Satisfy nationality requirements

Ordinary Applications
the person applying was in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the five-year period that ended on the date the application is received;
in the five-year period, he or she was not outside the United Kingdom for more than 450 days
in the last twelve months of that five-year period, he or she was not outside the United Kingdom for more than 90 days;
in the last 12 months of that five-year period, his or her stay in the United Kingdom was not subject to any time limit under the immigration laws;
he or she was not at any time in that five-year period, in the United Kingdom in breach of the immigration laws.
Married to British Citizen
the person applying was in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the three-year period that ended on the date the application is received;
on the date the application is received, the applicant’s stay in the United Kingdom is not subject to any time limit under the immigration laws;
in the three-year period, he or she was not outside the United Kingdom for more than 270 days; and
in the last 12 months of that three-year period, he or she was not outside the United Kingdom for more than 90 days; and
he or she was not at any time in that three-year period, in the United Kingdom in breach of the immigration laws.

    Hi, if you had passed the Life in UK Test before applying for your indefinite stay , so you do not need to pass the test again.

    I got my indefinate stay in 2005. I want to apply for british passport, do i have to give life in uk test before applying. I have not given this test before and am married to a british national.

    i have passed life in the uk test . my visa runs out in september. my husbands document such as bank statements and wage slips are long before ready .any advice please anyone as i was told i might have to go back to pakistan and re apply for another visa.
